We want you to know

We Thought you should know…

There are so many things to consider when you are thinking about having a photography session. What are you going to do with these pictures, what are you going to wear? Who is going to be in these images with you? We know how overwhelming this can be for you! Know that we fully believe in an open line of communication. We want you to tell us "Hey, I got a crazy idea!" Or show us what inspired you on Pinterest. The idea of a session is to create images that you have in mind. We don't want to put you on a beach somewhere (not that many would mind that) and you wanted something wooded. That is what we are talking about. Each session comes with a pre-consultation so that we make sure we are collaborating to create images that fit you and your personality!

Your Experience

ALWAYS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING

*Pre-session consultation

(either on phone or in person)

*Personalized Ordering Session

We will make sure you know what is going on each step of the way!

Information

I know that planning for photographs is not an easy task, I know that when I think about getting my family ready for a session a million things go through my mind. What are we going to wear, where are we going, what am I even going to do with these photographs when I get them…We want you to know that we have been there and done that. Here are our most frequently asked questions…if you can not find your answer here DON’T hesitate to call, text, or email …I want to make sure you have all the information you need and want you to be empowered to have the best session you can. There is nothing I want more than to have all of our expectations met for your session!

How would you describe your style?

I would say vibrant, moody, and GLAMOUROUS…all done with thoughtful poses. As for my editing techniques, I love bright and well-lit photographs full of color. However, I am a HUGE suckers for a moody/contrasted black and white that’ll make you do a double-take! Each image will be looked at to create the best art for you! Our goal is that your images reflect emotion and mood, and show you the beauty everyone else sees!

How do I book with you?

That’s easy! All you need to do is call or shoot me an email and let me know which days of the week work best for you. My schedule tends to fill up quickly, so the sooner you get ahold of me, the more likely it is that I can schedule on your preferred date. I do require a scheduling fee to secure your session date and then payment will be made at your ordering session or a payment plan will be set up at that time. Scheduling fees can be paid online or you can mail it, or drop it off in person. When we have set a date and time for your session, the appointment will be put on held for two until the scheduling fee is paid. Please contact us if there will be any delay, after a gentle reminder if a scheduling fee is not paid and no contact is made, the appointment will be available for other clients to book without further notification.

How do payments work?

I can take a credit card through PayPal, money order, checks, or cash. We also offer payment plans for your print and product orders.

Do I have control over what images you share?

When you fill out our client information form you will be signing a model release for me to share your images…IF at your ordering session there is an image that you would like us to NOT to share please just let us know and I will take that into consideration before sharing on any social media, blog, or advertising.

How far in advance should I schedule my session?

This, of course, depends on the session type. I have scheduled a session in a few days turn around and we have scheduled as far out as a year from our first contact. This is something we work together on.

How long does it take for me to get my proofs?

The waiting game is never any fun. For that reason, I work quickly to get your proofs to you. When we have booked your session we will have also booked your ordering appointment. This is usually booked two to four weeks after your session is held.

How many outfit and location changes can I have?

I never limit your outfit or location changes. We will discuss it all at your consultation so there are no surprises on either end. All I ask is that you keep in mind that the time it takes for you to change or for us to move to another location does count toward your session time, so let’s make sure we plan accordingly.

What happens if it rains or someone gets sick?

I understand that people get sick and that the weather misbehaves, so we will always plan in advance. If you or someone in your family gets sick with any type of contagious infection or virus (including pink eye or just a common cold) that you please cancel and/or reschedule your photo session for the sake of our personal health and the health of our other clients’. I would hate to make someone or someone’s child sick. I will do the same! I would hate to be the one who gets anyone sick! Please call to cancel your session at least 24-hours prior to your scheduled session time. Refunds from cancellations and or session terminations occurring less than 24-hours from your scheduled session time are at the discretion of the photographer. I  can reschedule for another date, just let me know as soon as you think you will need to reschedule. The same is true for rainy days or non-ideal weather.

The number one question we get asked is WHAT do we wear?

Our goal is to capture authentic images. Select clothes that reflect your personal style and taste rather than forcing yourselves into something trendy or outside of your comfort zone. Ultimately, what you wear depends on what you’re most comfortable in! In General Simple attire is always the best.

We will have a consultation we will talk about clothing, and what you want to create for your art.

Do NOT be afraid to let your kids wear fun, bright colors, and experiment with silly hats and other accessories! Solid colors are favored with medium to dark tones for black&white photographs. Think Texture and Layers! knits, corduroy, and denim all photograph well and add dimension and texture to the finished product. PLEASE avoid logos or character designs which become distracting.

REMEMBER if you are comfortable it will show in your pictures. Don’t forget to ask yourself what your goal for your session is! If you are aiming for a beautiful wall display you will want to be sure to wear colors and tones that reflect in your home and with your decor. If you are unsure about what is most flattering or what will go best with a location, don’t hesitate to reach out and connect! A phone or in-person consultation is not only recommended but required if time permits. A fun and simple trick we love to use is to use the experts, grab your favorite catalog, or google your favorite brand, see what they are up to, then hit up your closet to see what you have to create a similar look! Just be sure to choose an outfit that reflects you and your style!

Again if there is something that you are wondering about that is not here…call me, text me, email me, or even reach out on social media!

I can not wait to start planning your session!!
